Preventative & Wellness Care

We believe that preventative care is the key to a long, happy life for your pet. Whether you’re raising a playful kitten, caring for a senior pet, or navigating the needs of an exotic companion, we’re here to help your pet stay healthy and ahead of illness. Our focus is on early detection, smart prevention, and care plans built for your pet’s age, lifestyle, and species.

What to Expect During Your Pet’s Wellness Visit

During your pet’s wellness visit, our experienced veterinarians will perform a nose-to-tail exam to evaluate their overall health. This includes checking weight, heart and lung function, teeth and gums, eyes and ears, coat condition, and more. We’ll also discuss behavior, diet, exercise, and lifestyle to help you make informed decisions for your pet’s care. If you have an exotic pet, we tailor the exam and questions to their species-specific needs.

Wellness visits are also the perfect time to ask questions, track changes, and build a health history that can help us spot potential concerns early. We want these visits to be as low-stress and collaborative as possible, especially for nervous pets or first-time owners.

Wellness Services We Provide

Routine Exams

Annual (or semi-annual, for senior pets) exams help us catch issues early, provide age-appropriate care, and adjust your pet’s wellness care as they grow and change.

Vaccines & Vaccine Titers

Vaccines protect against common and dangerous diseases like rabies, distemper, and parvovirus. We also offer vaccine titers when appropriate. These blood tests help determine whether your pet still has immunity and may not need a booster.

Flea, Tick & Heartworm Prevention

Parasites can cause discomfort and disease, even in indoor pets. We’ll help you choose the safest and most effective products to protect your pet year-round from fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites, and heartworm disease.

Microchipping

A microchip is a simple, permanent ID form that greatly increases the chances of being reunited with your pet if they’re ever lost. We recommend microchipping for all cats, dogs, and even some exotic pets.

Senior Pet Care

As pets age, their needs change. We offer senior wellness care that focuses on early detection and other age-related concerns.

Health Certificates

We offer health certificates for pets traveling within or outside the country. Our USDA-accredited veterinarians are well-versed in ensuring travel requirements are met and that your four-legged companion has safe and healthy adventures by your side

FAQs

Yes. Indoor pets can still be exposed to diseases through open doors, windows, other animals, or visits to groomers, boarding facilities, or the vet. Rabies vaccines are also legally required in most areas, even for indoor-only pets.

Young pets grow quickly and are especially vulnerable to illness. Multiple visits during their first few months help us administer vaccines on schedule, monitor development, discuss training, and set them up for lifelong health.

Preventative exams allow us to detect early signs of disease, often before your pet shows symptoms. Regular checkups also help us track health trends and make proactive care decisions tailored to your pet’s needs.
