Appointments

Do you treat exotic pets?

Yes! Along with caring for dogs and cats, we treat many types of exotic pets, including: ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters, chinchillas, and even some bird species like chickens and ducks. If you’re not seeing your pet’s species listed, give us a call.

We do not see reptiles, large farm animals (horses, cows, pigs, etc.), or primates (monkeys).

Yes, we love to welcome new pet families and we even offer $50 off your first visit as our way of saying thanks for choosing us.

Yes, scheduling an appointment ensures your pet receives timely, personalized care. If you need a same-day vet appointment, please call us for availability.

AAHA accreditation means we’ve met or exceeded over 900 standards in veterinary care, safety, cleanliness, and team training. Fewer than 15% of U.S. hospitals are accredited, so accreditation is a badge of trust and excellence.

Yes! Our no-poke visits are perfect for young or anxious pets. These gentle, stress-free sessions help your pet get comfortable with the exam room through positive experiences, like mock exams, treat-based training, and lots of patience. Our goal is to build trust and reduce stress at every visit.

Services

Yes. Indoor pets can still be exposed to diseases through open doors, windows, other animals, or visits to groomers, boarding facilities, or the vet. Rabies vaccines are also legally required in most areas, even for indoor-only pets.

Young pets grow quickly and are especially vulnerable to illness. Multiple visits during their first few months help us administer vaccines on schedule, monitor development, discuss training, and set them up for lifelong health.

Preventative exams allow us to detect early signs of disease, often before your pet shows symptoms. Regular checkups also help us track health trends and make proactive care decisions tailored to your pet’s needs.

While there are additional risks with age, many senior pets tolerate anesthesia well, especially with pre-op bloodwork and careful monitoring. We’ll evaluate your pet’s overall health to ensure surgery is a safe option.

We’ll provide detailed pre-surgery instructions, including fasting requirements. Be sure to ask any questions and share all medications your pet is taking prior to the procedure.

We use pain management before, during, and after surgery to keep your pet as comfortable as possible. We’ll also send you home with pain medications and aftercare instructions.

Yes, we regularly perform surgery, such as spays and neuters, on exotic pets like rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs. These procedures require species-specific knowledge, which our team is trained in.

Recovery time depends on the type of surgery and your pet’s age and health. Most pets go home the same day and start feeling better within a few days. We’ll guide you on activity restrictions and schedule a follow-up visit to check healing progress.

Most pets benefit from annual professional cleanings, but some, especially small breeds or pets with existing dental issues, may need them more frequently. We’ll help you determine the right schedule for your pet.

Yes. Anesthesia allows us to clean below the gumline where plaque and bacteria hide, which can’t be done safely while your pet is awake. It also keeps your pet still and pain-free during the procedure.

Bad breath, red or bleeding gums, difficulty eating, pawing at the mouth, and yellow or brown buildup on the teeth can all indicate dental disease. If you notice any of these, we recommend you schedule a dental exam.

Absolutely. Rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets are all prone to dental issues, especially overgrown teeth or abscesses. We’re experienced in exotic pet dental care and can evaluate and treat these species safely.

Brushing your pet’s teeth daily (or as often as possible) is the gold standard. We can also recommend dental chews, water additives, and diets that support oral health between cleanings.

Yes, we do! Dr. Moore is trained in veterinary acupuncture and provides holistic treatment options tailored to your pet’s individual health goals.

Financing

While we do not offer any in-house payment plans, we do accept CareCredit and work with pet insurance providers. We also offer a 10% discount for military personnel as our way of saying thank you.

Applying for a CareCredit card is quick and easy. You can complete the secure online application in just a few minutes and receive an instant decision. If you need help at any point, our team is more than happy to walk you through the process during your visit.

If you apply in our clinic and are approved, you’ll receive an account number you can use at checkout.

Virtually any veterinary service or product can be purchased with your CareCredit card. You can also use your card at participating human health care providers.

You can use pet insurance at our clinic or any licensed veterinary practice. In most cases, you’ll pay your invoice at the time of service, then submit a claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement according to your policy terms. Some providers even pay your vet directly so you don’t have to cover the full cost upfront.

No, Pawlicy Advisor is not an insurance provider. It’s a comparison platform that helps pet owners evaluate insurance plans from multiple companies. Think of it as a marketplace and educational tool designed to simplify your search for the best coverage, not an insurance company itself.

The right insurance plan depends on your pet’s breed, age, and health needs—as well as your budget. There’s no universal “best,” but a good policy will balance coverage, cost, exclusions, and reimbursement rate. Tools like Pawlicy Advisor help you compare trusted providers so you can confidently choose what’s best for you and your pet.
